Biochemist and PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KULeuven (BE). Experience in basic biomedical research in different fields and centres (University of Oviedo, Institute of Cytology of Valencia, Institute of Biomedicine of Valencia - CSIC) and in applied research, transfer of knowledge, technology and assets to the food industry. Promoter in AZTI of the application of cell membrane lipidomics for nutrition and food innovation, and of the integration of the Food and Health sectors in the Basque Country

FERNANDO  MACHO

Founder & CTO

He is a serial entrepreneur with more than ten years of experience as an investor in Artificial Intelligence technologies in Silicon Valley. With his venture capital company UHS S.L. he has been invited to speak at technology conferences in Europe, Asia and especially in Latin America. Fernando is on the board of MedWhat, a Stanford University startup.   

SILVIA PIEROTTI

CSO

Biotechnologist and PhD in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics from Sapienza Università di Roma. She is used to work in the clinical setting and has extensive experience in human physiology and clinical application of research. Her field of scientific development has been mainly cell biology, lipidomics and liposomal technology. Expert in cell membrane lipidomics and its application as a molecular diagnostic tool for prevention and development of drug therapies. ​

Scientific Advisory

CARLA FERRERI

Senior Researcher at the National Council of Research (CNR) in Bologna (Italy) where she carries out research on stress and free radical transformations using membrane lipidomics, for the identification of new fatty acid pathways and biomarkers, as well as of lipidomic profiles of several health conditions.
Co-founder and scientific director of Lipinutragen, a company born as spin-off of the CNR and is the leader of the nutrilipidomic approach combining the fatty acid-based membrane lipidomic analysis with personalized nutraceuticals assignment. 
Author of more than 200 scientific papers, 3 books and 3 patents.  ​
